Radford was born in Memphis, Tennessee
Radford is the seventh son of seven children born on the seventh day.
Radford's father said he was "Born to perform from his soul and given the breath of life to sing from his heart."
Music was always present in the home and his mother taught him how to play the piano at an early age.
He is an accomplished vocalist and musician who taught himself other instruments such as guitar, bass and drums.
In 1964 at the age of 12 he met The Beatles at the Mid South Coliseum in Memphis, Tennessee which inspired him.
He has said that he was inspired by many artists, this includes the performing style of Elvis, Ronnie Milsap's smooth piano style, Conway Twitty's unique stage style, George Strait's style of ballads, Russell Smith, singer/songwriter with the Amazing Rhythm Aces from Nashville, Tennessee and Marty Stuart's Bluegrass style.
He developed an interest for Memphis Blues, rock and roll, and Country music and formed and fronted a band called the Diamond Steal Band, labeled precision country by the Memphis Commercial Appeal in 1982. The band achieved much success in the southern region of the country. In 1985 the band separated, Radford continued to pursue his own musical ventures. He has opened shows for Carl Perkins at Reelfoot Lake, Tennessee, played with Jerry Lee Lewis at the old Vapor's Supper Club in Memphis, Tennessee and opened for Marty Stuart, in August 2007 in Eureka Springs Arkansas at the Bluegrass Festival.
